This is a petition for a writ of habeas corpus brought by Julius Edwin Wieringo, Jr., an inmate in the Virginia State Penitentiary in Richmond. The petitioner was convicted in the Circuit Court of Bedford County on February 21, 1975 of armed robbery and sentenced to 99 years in jail.
