After a jury trial, defendants — who had been jointly tried with a third defendant, Augustine Soto (who is not a party to this appeal) — were convicted of rape and conspiracy with the intent to commit the offense of aggravated kidnapping. (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1967, ch. 38, pars. 10-2 and 8-2.) They were each sentenced to concurrent terms...
