Ronald Credeur was charged by bill of information with a violation of La.R.S. 14:89.1, aggravated crime against nature, committed on December 8, 1973, in that he did have unnatural copulation with his eleven-year-old daughter. Trial by jury on March 25, 1975 resulted in a verdict of guilty of attempted aggravated crime against nature by a vote of ten to two.
