Willie Jackson (plaintiff) was employed as a bus driver by the respondent Regional Transit Service (RTS). While on duty on April 4, 1975 he was involved in a traffic accident and thereafter discharged because of excessive preventable accidents. Subsequently he was found not guilty of a traffic citation issued as a result of the accident.
