On December 20, 1972, Andrew Der, age 17, was accosted in front of his residence in Silver Spring, Maryland, by a black male wearing a long coat and carrying a rifle. The accoster was joined by four more black males, one of whom had another rifle. The five individuals robbed Der of his watch, his keys and his wallet containing money and various cards.
