In a six-count information, the defendant, Randall Anthony Bates, was charged with the offense of obscenity (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1973, ch. 38, par. 11-20). The gravamen of each count was that on December 29, 1973, the defendant had made available for viewing by the general public a certain obscene film in Rockford, Illinois. Upon return of the jury's verdict of guilty on each count...
