The defendant was indicted for shoplifting. Upon the trial of the case, defense counsel requested that the case be reported, and a court reporter was summoned and reported the case. The court reporter billed the defendant $225 for reporting the case. Defense counsel then filed a "Motion for Court Reporter's Cost to be Paid by State." A hearing was held on the motion, and the trial judge denied defendant's motion and ordered the defendant...
