The defendant was tried to a jury and found guilty of one count of assaulting a police officer in violation of § 53-165b of the General Statutes, and one count of resisting a police officer in violation of § 53-165 of the General Statutes. A verdict of not guilty was rendered upon a count alleging the theft of a motor vehicle in violation of § 53-57 of the General Statutes.
