Defendant, Robert Lofton, was charged with unlawful use of weapons (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1975, ch. 38, par. 24-1(a)(10)), and aggravated assault (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1975, ch. 38, par. 12-2(a)). After a jury trial, he was convicted and sentenced to 1-year probation, the first 7 days of which were to be served in the House of Correction...
