The plaintiffs, Danbury residents and taxpayers, brought this action against the city and certain of its officials seeking a declaratory judgment determining the validity of the tax formula provision contained in article V, § 4, of the consolidation ordinance of the city of Danbury, and the levy of real estate taxes pursuant thereto, and, in addition, for appropriate equitable relief.
