Defendant was originally charged with kidnapping, MCLA 750.349; MSA 28.581, and with carrying a weapon in a motor vehicle, MCLA 750.227; MSA 28.424. On January 7, 1975, defendant's plea of nolo contendere to the crime of carrying a weapon in a motor vehicle was accepted by the Eaton County Circuit Court. The court subsequently sentenced defendant to a term of from 3 to 5 years in prison with the recommendation that he receive psychiatric counseling...
