Buford Eugene Potts appeals from his conviction for making a false statement to a federally insured bank to influence the action of the bank in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1014. Potts twice moved for judgment of acquittal, claiming the evidence against him was insufficient, once after the government had rested its case and again before sentencing. Both motions were denied. He was sentenced to five years supervised probation and was required to make restitution...
