Raymond Perique and Claudia Merritt were charged in the same bill of information with possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, to-wit: heroin, in violation of La.R.S. 40:966. After trial by jury, Raymond Perique was found guilty as charged and sentenced to life imprisonment at hard labor.
