These consolidated cases arise out of an unusual collision between S/T OVERSEAS ALASKA, partially laden with a cargo of grain, and M/S SHINTO MARU, fully laden with a cargo of logs, occurring on the Columbia River off Jim Crow Point (Light 19) approximately 10 miles up river of Astoria, Oregon at 1805 hours on April 25, 1975.
