Appellant was convicted of violating the Alabama Uniform Controlled Substances Act and sentenced to five years in the penitentiary. He was represented by retained counsel and upon being arraigned he pleaded not guilty. After sentence was imposed, he gave notice of appeal and his sentence was suspended pending appeal.
