Defendant stands indicted for having during 1975 distributed a quantity of heroin. The Government having indicated its intention to use a certain earlier conviction of this defendant should defendant take the witness stand on his own behalf, defendant has moved for a pre-trial ruling by me concerning such employment of the conviction.
