This is a suit by a bank to recover funds advanced to an alleged agent of the payee on a sight draft which subsequently proved to be uncollectable. Plaintiff, Gulf Coast State Bank (Bank), brought suit against defendants, J. C. Emenhiser, a rice farmer; Lillian Emenhiser, his divorced wife; and their landlords, hereinafter referred to as the Doornbos defendants.
