This suit arose as a result of a rear-end collision that occurred in Galveston County between a vehicle owned and operated by plaintiffs, John Thomas and Johnnie Mae Thomas, and another vehicle owned by defendant Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and operated by defendant's employee, John Cliver, Jr. After a hearing on defendant's plea of privilege (which the trial court overruled), the case proceeded to trial before a jury...
