HENDLEY, Judge.

Plaintiff was awarded 50% partial permanent disability pursuant to the Workmen's Compensation Act. Sections 59-10-1 through 59-10-37, N.M.S.A. 1953 (2d Repl. Vol. 9, pt. 1, 1974). Subsequently, plaintiff filed a motion for "a lump sum award equal to the present value of all future payments of compensation computed at 5% discount, compounded annually" on the ground that it was in his best interest.
