Defendant appeals from a judgment of conviction for receiving and possessing a firearm, having earlier been convicted in a state court of a felony, 18 U.S.C. App. § 1202(a)(1). His state conviction was for larceny in excess of $100, a felony carrying a maximum prison sentence of five years.
