Ronald Sims was charged by bill of information with attempted armed robbery of Ethel Brandy on December 4, 1974, while armed with a dangerous weapon, towit: a pistol. La.R.S. 14:27; La.R.S. 14:64. After trial by jury, defendant was found guilty as charged and was subsequently sentenced to serve thirty years at hard labor.
