On September 27, 1971, defendant was charged by information with the offenses of burglary (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1971, ch. 38, par. 19-1) and theft in excess of $150 (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1971, ch. 38, par. 16-1). He was arraigned on the same day and waived indictment and preliminary hearing.
