Robert and Irene Maynard commenced this action alleging that they had been defrauded in the purchase of the corporate stock of Mabel's Tavern, Inc. The Ravettis counterclaimed on a negotiable note and mortgage given by the plaintiffs Maynard in the transaction. The plaintiffs subsequently alleged that the note and mortgage were usurious under the provisions of RCW 19.52.
