Appellant was found guilty by a jury of murder in the first degree, assault with intent to kill with malice aforethought and robbery in the first degree by means of a dangerous and deadly weapon. (Sections 559.010, 559.180 and 560.120 RSMo 1969). The jury assessed punishment of life imprisonment for the murder conviction, five years imprisonment for the robbery conviction, and two years imprisonment on the assault with intent to kill conviction.
