The proceeding before the court is one for a private placement adoption of an infant girl. The proceeding is brought under the provisions of title III of article VII of the Domestic Relations Law. The infant for adoption was born out of wedlock and is currently three months of age.

The natural mother of the infant for adoption is herself only 14 years of age.
