On November 30, 1970, a promissory note payable to the order of Ben D. Johnson, Sr., was executed by Geddes A. Jones-Journet, Charles H. D. Bowers, Jr., Mrs. Naomi J. Parnell, George F. Geddes, Willie P. Davis, Sr., and Mrs. Velma M. Brewer.1 Johnson instituted this suit to collect payment on the note on November 3, 1971, naming the six makers as defendants.
