This devolutive appeal involves a claim for maximum disability under the Workmen's Compensation Act. Plaintiff's petition was filed on November 8, 1968 alleging that a disabling back injury covered by the Act took place on November 11, 1967. Although defendant answered the petition promptly—on December 2, 1968— the matter was not tried in the Twenty-Fifth Judicial District Court until October 10, 1973. Judgment was rendered on May 7, 1974...
