This case comes to us under the provisions of G.L.c. 278, §§ 33A-33G, after the defendant's conviction of armed robbery (Indictment No. 40854) and unlawfully carrying a firearm (Indictment No. 40855).1 The defendant was acquitted under a third indictment (No. 40856) charging assault with a dangerous weapon.
