Appellant, Garfield Bennett, was arrested on November 27, 1973, and charged by criminal complaint with robbery, burglary, kidnapping threats, aggravated assault and battery, and various other crimes. Indictments were returned on December 12, 1973, and the case was listed for trial on January 2, 1974.
