George Yates, defendant, was found guilty after a bench trial of the crime of burglary (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1971, ch. 38, par. 19-1). He was sentenced to a term of 4 to 12 years. Defendant appeals arguing that he was denied effective assistance of counsel in that defense counsel failed to make a pretrial motion for dismissal predicated upon an alleged immunity agreement with the State's attorney...
