The plaintiffs filed suit for the recovery of damages, both compensatory and punitive, for breach of contract to bury, and for the alleged outrageous conduct of the defendants. The jury returned a verdict against both defendants in favor of Rita Johnson for the sum of $100,000 compensatory damages and $125,000 punitive damages.
