Miller was convicted of murder and sentenced to a life term in the penitentiary by the Circuit Court of the Second Judicial District of Jones County, Mississippi. The judgment of the court was dated April 9, 1974 and his motion for a new trial was denied April 18, 1974. From that conviction and sentence an appeal to this Court was perfected and briefs were filed. Miller's case was set for a hearing on the merits...
