This is an action for damages brought by a discharged employee (appellant, hereinafter referred to as "plaintiff") against his former employer (respondent, hereinafter referred to as "defendant") for alleged violation of Section 290.140 RSMo 1969, V.A.M.S., the so-called "service letter statute". After a long trial, the jury returned a verdict in favor of the plaintiff in the sum of $10,000.00 actual and $5,000.00 punitive damages. Thereafter...
