Tommie P. Crawford (Crawford), while working as an operator of a rock crusher for W.R. Skousen Contractor, Inc. (Skousen), at Tonopah, Arizona, exhibited symptoms which were later diagnosed as coccidioidomycosis (valley fever). Because of an immunological deficiency, Crawford's valley fever progressed to a much more severe disease, coccimeningitis, which resulted in his hospitalization and a state of non compos mentis at the...
