A Knox County grand jury returned an indictment charging the Defendant with criminal responsibility for a fire which had occurred within the walls of the Maine State Prison in which the Defendant was then incarcerated. Prison officials testified as to the circumstances of their discovery of the fire and as to its location and the nature of the area burned.
