After trial by jury in the Bennington County (Superior) Court, the defendant was convicted of murder in the second degree. The conviction was affirmed on appeal to this Court, State v. King, 131 Vt. 200, 303 A.2d 156 (1973). Following this decision the defendant brought a petition for post-conviction relief pursuant to 13 V.S.A. § 7131 et seq.
