POMEROY, Justice.

Appellant was indicted for "murder" by the Kennebec County Grand Jury. He entered a plea of "not guilty" and "not guilty by reason of mental disease or mental defect." From a judgment entered in a jury verdict of "guilty of manslaughter," he takes this timely appeal.
