Norman P. Gadue brought suit against the Village of Essex Junction and Kenneth G. Greer, village manager, seeking restoration to his position as a commissioned police officer and compensation for wages and benefits lost as a result of defendants' refusal to allow him to return to his employment following surgery for organic heart disease. The complaint states that Gadue's own physician had certified on November 1, 1973, that he was able to resume work...
