This is an expropriation suit instituted under LSA-R.S. 48:441 et seq., by the State of Louisiana, through the Department of Highways, against Ross Continental Motor Lodge, Inc. Plaintiff deposited $5,097.00 in the Registry of the Court, and defendant answered praying that a larger sum be awarded. The trial court rendered judgment awarding defendant $36,088.95, less the amount deposited, for the property taken and damages. Plaintiff appealed. Defendant...
