Daniel F. Beach was indicted by the grand jury for the first degree murder of Lee G. Newsom while engaged in the perpetration of armed robbery in violation of La.R.S. 14:30. He was tried by jury, found guilty of second degree murder, and sentenced to imprisonment at hard labor for life without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence for a period of twenty years.
