Alvin Louis Dillard was indicted by the grand jury of Bossier Parish for the murder of one police officer in violation of La.R.S. 14:30, and the attempted murder of two others. La.R.S. 14:27; La.R.S. 14:30. After trial by jury on September 24-26, 1973, defendant was found guilty on all three charges and was subsequently sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder conviction and to consecutive ten-year prison terms for each conviction of attempted...
