In this case we consider various provisions of the California Uniform Commercial Code which govern the rights and duties of the owners of corporate securities which have been lost, destroyed or stolen. Plaintiffs, the owners of the securities in question, brought suit against defendant issuers to obtain replacement certificates contending that defendants had improperly registered a transfer of the securities...
