JOSLIN, Justice.

This civil action was brought in the Superior Court to recover damages for injuries allegedly sustained by the plaintiff at about 4 a. m. on July 4, 1968, when the taxicab he was driving on Pine Street in Providence was struck by a vehicle owned and operated, respectively, by the corporate and individual defendants.
