The defendant, Henry Walker, was convicted by a jury of second-degree assault upon a Hoquiam police officer "with intent to prevent and resist" his lawful apprehension and detention. RCW 9.11.020 (6). The State appeals from an order granting defendant's motion for new trial; the defendant cross-appeals from an order denying his motion in arrest of judgment.
