This controversy arises from a 1967 judgment granting a divorce to the plaintiff, Ruth Sillman, awarding her custody of her four minor children and ordering the defendant, Eugene Sillman, to pay "$150 per month ... for each of his minor children." In May, 1973, the plaintiff filed a motion for contempt alleging that the defendant had "failed ... to pay for the support of the minor child, Emily" since October of 1972. To that motion
