This cause arises out of a dispute over the proceeds of a life insurance policy issued on the life of Joseph Thomas, deceased. Plaintiff, Elizabeth Smith, sister of the deceased and the designated beneficiary under the policy, instituted suit against John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company which interpleaded the other defendants.
