Edward J. Romero brought this suit against Bethlehem Steel Corp., his employer; Trident Maritime Agency, Ltd., the owners of the vessel on which he was working when he was allegedly injured; and J. Flanagan, the ship's agent. Romero claimed that the defendants, singly or in combination, were negligent in denying him a safe place to work and that Trident's vessel, the M/V St. Patrick, was unseaworthy.
