Bogard, then twenty-two years of age, arrived at the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman to begin serving a term of twenty-five years imprisonment which was imposed upon him following his conviction on a charge of armed robbery in the Circuit Court of Leflore County, Mississippi.
