Winson and Carrie Green, parents of the deceased minor child, Betty Francis Green, age six, filed suit December 6, 1972 for wrongful death and survivor-ship damages incurred as a result of a December 21, 1971 accident at the Jefferson Street, Mansfield, Louisiana crossing of the main line of The Kansas City Southern Railway Company.
