Defendant, Lawrence Dale Bulmer, appeals from a conviction for escape under § 18-8-208(2), C.R.S.1973. We reverse.

In 1974 defendant entered a plea of guilty in the state of Texas to the charge of theft of property valued at $200 or more. He was sentenced to a term of four years imprisonment and placed on probation for this period. Shortly thereafter a petition for revocation of probation was filed...
